Christ the Mediator
Blog 7
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).
"God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself" (2 Corinthians 5:19).
Christ functioned as a mediator between the people and God as the Evangelists referred to Him as the Prophet, the King, and the Priest.
The Jews considered Him to be a prophet because of His authority, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee" (Matthew 21:11) and Jesus referred to Himself as a prophet, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house" (Matthew 13:57).
He was described as the King by the prophets when He entered to Jerusalem, "your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey" (Matthew 21:5).
He was also depicted as a priest because He offered Himself to death and offered His blood for the remission of sins, "This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matthew 26:28).
